A very literal, word for word translation of these lines (with single Hebrew words represented by hyphenated clauses, and missing but implied verbs in parentheses) might go like this:

Set-me as-a-seal upon your-heart,

as-a-seal upon your-arm;

for strong as-death (is) love,

hard as-the-grave (is) jealousy.

its-sparks (are) sparks-of fire,

a-raging-flame.

And here now is a more standard English translation of these lines from the widely used New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) of the Bible, which smooths out the syntax and follows the common practice of representing the second line of a couplet with indentation:

Set me as a seal upon your heart,

as a seal upon your arm;

for love is strong as death,

passion fierce as the grave.

Its flashes are flashes of fire,

a raging flame. (Song 8:6)
